2 Sisters Challenge blog

oopsie!! I forgot to post this on Saturday .. what a duffer I am... Inky Impressions are sponsoring 2 Sisters Challenge blog this week .. and I made a card for the challenge.. using Angelica's Heart socks... although you might notice a slight difference to the image??

I inked up my stamp and then used a baby wipe to remove the handbag Angelica usually holds... then I stamped the image and drew in a teddy bear where her handbag was previously!

This is the result ...

This card is a little more subdued than my usual cards... It's all that brown which I was practising using all brown Copics as this month the Mad for Markers challenge is Male cards - using brown Copics!

Thanks for popping past and don't forget to check out 2 Sisters challenge blog for your chance to win a gorgeous Inky stamp!! :D

Happy Birthday and an arty, crafty day trip

Monday is our first god-daughter's birthday ... and so I had to make a special card for her! LOL!
This is the card that I sent... using my current favourite stamp!! Miss Anya from the hats off set from The Greeting Farm ... I have also used this gorgeous Sweet November Unicorn! So sweet don't you think??

I had fun with this one... and I'm really loving the Copic Opaque white at the moment too.. it's just lovely to put on and it shows up brilliantly on the Copics!

Today I went to along to Magnolia Square with a friend... which was lots of FUN! There were some lovely products and the displays were all awesome!! :D I was very self controlled but I did buy myself a roll of washi tape and a headband (pictured below .. although you can't see the flower on the side too well in the pic)!

Thanks for stopping by .. hope you are having a fun weekend!

The Altered Alice... Chapter 1 - Week 4!!!

"Alice crouched down among the trees as well as she could, for her neck kept getting entangled among the branches, and every now and then she had to stop and untwist it. After a while she remembered that she still held the pieces of mushroom in her hands, and she set to work very carefully, nibbling first at one and then at the other, and growing sometimes taller and sometimes shorter, until she had succeeded in bringing herself down to her usual height.
It was so long since she had been anything near the right size, that it felt quite strange at first; but she got used to it in a few minutes, and began talking to herself, as usual. `Come, there's half my plan done now! How puzzling all these changes are! I'm never sure what I'm going to be, from one minute to another!"
-- Chapter 5, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland
Well, just like Alice we have been through a change in location and changed form from weekly to monthly, but the challenge chapters remain familiar despite all these puzzling changes!
To reflect all these puzzling changes, the challenge is to make something that features a dress form, OR to make something that changes in form! While it is not required that your project include Alice in Wonderland, we do encourage it. If your project does feature Wonderland you will get two chances in the prize drawing instead of one!
STAMPOTIQUE ORIGINALS is sponsoring our first challenge with a $30 gift certificate for one lucky winner, and their design team is going to play along! Be sure to visit their Stampotique Designer's Challenge blog where you can play every week!

I am back this week with another project as inspiration for this challenge .. this week I am sharing a little ATC that I created using the mushroom group stamp that I was lucky enough to receive from Stampotique for this challenge!! They are very generous to give us on the twisted team a stamp to work with!!! THANKS!!

I also used Alice from The Greeting Farm's signature set! I love this little Alice!! As you might be able to ascertain from this ATC little Alice just drank that bottle saying "Drink me" and now she is smaller than those mushies there! tee hee!!

Alice is coloured with Copics.. R000, R00, R11, E50, 51, 53, Y11, B12, 14, 000, N1, blue spica
the mushrooms have LOTS of Rs and Lots of Es!!! I also coloured the flower in with blue Copic.. B18 I think it was :D

Make sure you check out The Altered Alice for some GORGEOUS inspiration!!

Hope you are all going well!! I've had a busy weekend!! A friend that I've known since I came to Sydney 13 years ago got married! This was something I've been praying for - for a long time so it was very exciting!! :) also had some friends come and stay ... they came for the wedding.. that was FUN!! :D LOVE these girls!!!

Wee Suzy

I just love this little image.. I mean wee image of Suzy that the lovely and talented Sylvia has designed.. isn't she adorable!! If you missed Sylvia's launch with her very generous giveaway you can purchase an image of Wee Suzy along with some other beautiful images HERE!

I coloured Suzy on 352GSM Neenah.. this is a little heavier and softer than the Xpress It I normally use.. so my colours have feathered a little more than normal... I still love her though.. and I love that the colours come up more vibrantly on this CS!

Thanks for popping past!

Our Creative Corner - who want us to cut it out... so I cut out an oval with my CM cutters and then I cut out the image from bits of paper! :D

CES Challenges
is "cute and cuddly" well whilst I'm pretty sure not all Koalas are that cuddly IRL - ie. sharp claws tee hee - Hazel looks pretty cuddly!! :D

Papertake Weekly Challenge is "putting on the glitz" .. I hope my little rhinestones are enough sparkle for this challenge!! :D

Wow, what 'a great catch!' You always do a 'great job!' and are willing to give 'a helping hand'. I love the way these two are so typical - the woman working hard to keep the house and garden while the guy just goes fishing - although I suppose he does supply food for dinner that way (although she'll probably have to cook it ;-) ) so yes I suppose 'it takes two' and these 2 really 'rock the farm' ;-)
Cheers, Gin.
(p.s that was probably one of my favourite comments to write ;-) )

a couple of runners up...

The Altered Alice

Today is week two of inspiration for week one of the challenges at The Altered Alice (the new home for Oh, Alice challenges)!

Our excerpt is...
The challenge is to make something that features a dress form, OR to make something that changes in form!
Remember that - STAMPOTIQUE ORIGINALS is sponsoring our first challenge with a $30 gift certificate for one lucky winner, so get your entries in!

Here is my inspiration...

I have used paper from Graphic 45 - Alice in Halloween .. both the 12 x 12 sheets and the 8" paper pack... I like how I was able to have both the different sized keyhole papers as a result!!

I have used on of The Greeting Farm's Creepers.. I think she makes a good Alice! :D And she is wearing a pretty dress.. so that is my dress form .. and as for the changing form... I've used some of the G4 paper - cutting out the image of Abosolem (the Blue caterpillar) and then the trail leading to a butterfly!
Other additions include.. using my Tim Holtz distresser for the edges AND a metal key :D

Thanks for coming along on another crazy Alice adventure!!!
Sammi
xx

Spesch Stamps :: Cute Unicorn

Hi everyone, Just wanted to share with you a card I've made using the very "cute Unicorn" Stamp from Spesch stamps.. this gorgeous unicorn is a rubber stamp (you can also get it in digital if you prefer) and it stamps beautifully .. so clear!! It is also fun to colour. Although for tonight's card I have not done a huge amount of colouring.. I know SHOCK, Horror! Instead I have paper pieced the Unicorn with some of the DCWV Fairytale paper .. added a bit of shading/ colouring with Copics and some sparkle with Spica.. then combined the image with a sentiment from The Greeting Farm ... some paper and embellishments and voila!!

Here's a closer look...

Thanks for dropping past... I have tried to do some blog hopping today but the pics are not showing up... bizarre... is anyone else having this problem???
